Dominic Lipinski Dominic Lipinski
THE BRIT AWARDS took place last night with Little Mix, David Bowie, Adele, Beyoncé and Drake among the night’s big winners.
Unfortunately many Irish viewers were precluded from watching it due to the fact that ITV is no longer available on Sky Ireland or Virgin Media.

So here’s what you missed…
1. Katy Perry performed Chained to the Rhythm and it contained a thinly veiled reference to President Donald Trump meeting Prime Minister Theresa May last month

2. Speaking of Katy Perry, one of her dancers fell off the stage
Introducing Katy Perry’s House, the new Left Shark.

Ouch.
3. The 1975 were caught smoking something under a table
Band member Ross McDonald shared a video of the band smoking underneath a table as awards were being presented on stage.
Just like at your Debs.
4. Ed Sheeran wore a black turtleneck
Is it just us or does he look like kind of a British mobster in Ray Winstone’s gang?
5. Later in the night, he changed and performed Shape of You with an added verse from rapper Stormzy
Ed confirmed on Twitter that the official Stormzy remix will be released on Friday.

6. Grime artist Skepta performed his banger Shutdown… but half of it was muted
ITV censored the words “ring ring p*ssy” from his performance despite the fact that it was broadcast after the watershed.
And yet they let Dermot O’Leary away with saying “batshit crazy” earlier in the night.
7. Some viewers thought that ITV had been hacked during The 1975′s performance…
The group’s backdrop featured cutting criticisms like this leading viewers to believe there was something sinister afoot.

But as fans of the group pointed out, the visuals are taken from their video for The Sound and were intended to be a tongue-in-cheek response to their critics.
So now. We can breathe easy.
8. Chris Martin kind of performed a duet with George Michael?
Chris Martin paid tribute to the late pop icon with a performance of A Different Corner. Midway through the song, George Michael appeared on the screen behind him and soon the pair were singing a duet.
Technology, huh?
Martin’s performance, sweet and all as it was, didn’t go down well with everyone at home.
9. Drake celebrated his Best International Male Solo Artist by writing, “Winner winner Nandos chicken dinner” on Instagram
Who knew Drake was a top banter lad? #CheekyNandos #Bants #LadsLadsLads
10. David Bowie won two of the night’s biggest awards and his son Duncan Jones accepted Album of the Year on his behalf.
After the ceremony, he took to Twitter to say he had forgotten one part of the speech.
Amen.
11. Robbie Williams received a lifetime achievement award and didn’t play any of his bangers
Instead of treating us to Rock DJ or Angels or Let Me Entertain You, he performed… The Heavy Entertainment Show, I Love My Life and Mixed Signals.
COME ON, ROBBIE.

12. Little Mix won Best British Single for Shout Out To My Ex and thanked their exes for unwittingly providing them with musical inspiration
